Melissa Anne Peña, an associate with the firm, concentrates her practice on bankruptcy law and complex commercial litigation. Melissa’s practice includes complex foreclosure matters, creditor actions, Chapter 11 planning confirmation issues and adversary proceedings. Melissa also handles breach of contract actions and issues relating to the Uniform Fraudulent Transfer Act. She is also experienced with products liability and insurance coverage litigation.
Melissa’s practice frequently requires her to appear before the state and federal courts of New Jersey and New York. She also negotiates settlements and mediates cases both in private and court-ordered mediations. While in law school, Melissa was the Recent Development Editor of the Administrative Law Review and participated in the Law and Government Society. In her third year of law school, Melissa participated in the Washington College of Law Civil Practice Clinic, where she represented indigent clients in Maryland State Court and before federal administrative agencies. She worked as an intern for Searles Solicitors in London during the summer of 2001. |
