Mel practices in the public law area. Her focus is public finance, serving as bond counsel and underwriters counsel for cities, counties and school districts in addition to working on general public law matters. Prior to her legal career, Mel worked in the local government arena for over eight years. She was a municipal government Management Analyst in the City Manager’s Office in Waco, where she worked on special projects for the management team that focused on community and economic development matters. Mel most recently served as the Assistant to the City Manager for the City of Grapevine, where she worked primarily on franchise utility issues, including electric, gas and telecommunications, general budget and finance matters and economic development and legislative issues. She handled citizen response to numerous issues and regularly presented information to the City Council on various projects. |
