Melanie is a native of Jacksonville, Florida, and graduated Cum Laude from the University of Mississippi, with a B.B.A. in Business Administration Major in Accounting. Prior to joining GranthamPoole, Melanie was a senior tax manager with a regional accounting firm and had complete management responsibilities for more than two hundred corporate, partnership, and individual clients, in addition to supervision and training of a tax staff of professionals. She was also instrumental in management of the firm’s banking practice and implemented annual training and client seminars. As a member of GranthamPoole’s tax team, Melanie brings valuable experience in small business tax planning and preparation, along with handling individual taxation issues and reviews. Melanie is a member of the Mississippi Society of CPAs, American Institute of CPAs, and current member and former Board Member of the American Society of Women Accountants. She is very active in the community as Treasurer and member of the Board of Directors for Madison, The City, Chamber of Commerce, former Finance Chairman and incoming Administrative Board Chairman of Christ United Methodist Church, and Secretary and Board Member of the Frances Rushton Scholarship Fund. Melanie, her husband, Woody, and two sons live in Madison and attend Christ United Methodist Church in Jackson. |
