Mel Walter is vice president of self-service business development for NCR Corporation. He is responsible for strategic alliances, mergers and acquisitions, and industry analyst relations as it relates to NCR’s self-service businesses.
Reporting to NCR Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President Bill Nuti, Walter works with the company’s business units on implementing its self-service strategy in targeted industries such as banking, retail, travel, healthcare, public sector, and gaming.
Previously, Walter was vice president of major accounts for NCR’s Financial Solutions Division where he was responsible for driving NCR’s self-service business with the largest financial institutions and ATM deployers in the United States.
Mel is a 27-year NCR veteran and joined NCR in 1980 where he began his career working in engineering on the development side of the ATM business, proceeding to the product marketing side where he was eventually named assistant vice president of ATM marketing for the United States sales group. He then joined the Gasper Corporation as vice president of global sales and marketing, a leading provider of software for the ATM industry. He rejoined NCR in 1999, when Gasper became a wholly owned subsidiary of NCR, as head of the North America managed services organization, after which was he was named self-service director of ATM Mobility, leading the company’s m-commerce initiative.
Walter graduated summa cum laude from Southeast Missouri State University with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering technology. While working at NCR, Walter has been awarded three self-service patents. |
