~Mel Stiller is Senior Vice President of Education, Development and Community Relations at MMI. He oversees the development of a philanthropy program that encompasses corporate, foundation and individual giving, as well as MMI’s community education outreach.Mr. Stiller was Chief Executive Officer of Consumer Credit Counseling Service (CCCS) of Southern New England. He led the agency for nearly thirty years, as it grew from CCCS of Greater Boston, to CCCS of Eastern Massachusetts to CCCS of Massachusetts and finally to its last stage, which covered Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut. His tenure with Consumer Credit Counseling Service allowed him to gain extensive experience in education, community relations, fundraising, board relations, media relations, public speaking and management. Mr. Stiller is the former chairman of the Consumer Resource Council of Massachusetts and is a former member of the Federal Reserve Board’s Consumer Advisory Council. He was also a member of the board of trustees of the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC). He spent twelve years on the NFCC board, and has served on its Executive Committee, Personnel Committee, Housing Committee, Legislative Committee, By-Laws Committee and Conference Committee. He also chaired its Peer Review and Assistance Committee for four years.Mr. Stiller received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Babson College in 1970. After four years in the real estate and credit fields, he joined CCCS as Director of Counseling. A year later, he became the agency’s Chief Executive Officer. |
