Mel Bergstein is chairman of Diamond (Nasdaq: DTPI) a premier management and advisory firm serving Global 2000 clients worldwide. An internationally known leader in the consulting industry Mel has more than 30 years of experience serving clients globally.
Mel co-founded Diamond Technology Partners in 1994 and served as CEO until stepping down from that position in 2006. Under his leadership Diamond grew into a leading publicly held consultancy with a long list of blue-chip clients. In 2000 Diamond acquired Cluster Consulting a leading European consulting organization creating DiamondCluster International. Diamond with consultants across the U. S. Europe Middle East and Latin America works collaboratively with clients to develop and implement growth strategies improve operations and capitalize on technology.
Prior to founding Diamond from 1991 to 1993 Mel served in executive management roles at Technology Solutions Company. Earlier he spent three years at CSC Consulting where he played an integral leadership role as senior vice president of systems integration. His distinguished consulting career unfolded first during 21 years with Arthur Andersen & Company’s consulting division (now Accenture). A partner in that firm from 1977 to 1989 Mel managed major client responsibilities. He served as managing director of worldwide technology from 1985 to 1989 was elected to the board of Arthur Andersen twice during that period and also served as chairman of the board’s Consulting Oversight Committee.
Mel is a member of the Advisory Board of Cross Atlantic Capital Partners a venture capital fund focused in Europe; serves on the Board of Directors of Simon Property Group; and serves on the Board of Overseers of the University of Pennsylvania School of Engineering. He is a member the Board of Directors of the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago; a Trustee of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and a Trustee of the Ravinia Festival. In addition Mel is a member of the Board of Directors of the Executives’ Club of Chicago and an active member of the Commercial Club the Economic Club the Standard Club and the Chicago Club.
Education and Affiliation
Mel holds a bachelor of science degree in economics from The Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania and is a certified public accountant.
