Mel Immergut is Chairman of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP. He has been a partner in the Firm's Corporate Department since 1980 and Chairman of the Firm since 1995.
Mr. Immergut has extensive experience in a wide variety of corporate governance, board advisory and transactional work, including M&A transactions, financing transactions and leveraged leasing. He is responsible for, among other clients, the Firm's representation of Anheuser-Busch, Astoria Financial, Cushman and Wakefield, MasterCard, NASCAR, Sovereign Bancorp, Tyson Foods and William E. Simon and Sons.
Mr. Immergut received his B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and his J.D. and M.B.A. from Columbia University. He serves as a Trustee and Past-President of the American College of Investment Counsel, a Trustee of The Eye-Bank for Sight Restoration, Inc. and past President of The Billfish Foundation. Mr. Immergut is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and a Fellow of the New York Bar Foundation. He serves as Vice Chair of the Legal Aid Society and on the Columbia Law School Board of Visitors.
Mr. Immergut also serves as a member of the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation Advisory Council, the Partnership for New York City and the Council on Foreign Relations. Additionally, he is a member of the United States Southern Command Advisory Board, a trustee of the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, and serves on the Defense Business Board of the United States Department of Defense. Mr. Immergut is a recipient of The Jewish Theological Seminary Simon H. Rifkind Award. |
