Ms. Martinez is a Shareholder in Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck's Denver office and a member of the firm's Employment and Litigation groups. Ms. Martinez has tried numerous cases on behalf of employers, including claims under the ADA, ADEA, Title VII, the Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act, the Colorado Wage Claim Act, the Colorado Uniform Trade Secrets Act and State contract, fraud and defamation laws. She also counsels clients on day-to-day issues involving all aspects of employment law. She has significant experience with the EEOC including the processing of charges, and she has successfully negotiated with and litigated against the EEOC for her corporate clients. Although Ms. Martinez’ practice focuses on defense work, in one case she represented an individual in an ADA discrimination and constructive discharge case; she obtained the largest ADA verdict in Colorado history. In addition, Ms. Martinez has written articles on sexual harassment investigations, progressive discipline policies and Title VII liability. She also serves as an instructor for trial and deposition skills programs for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. |
