Megan R. Rooney is an associate in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Firm's Chicago office. As a member of the Health Department, Megan focuses her practice on general health law matters, advising hospital, industry, and physician clients on transactional, regulatory, employee benefit and tax-exemption related matters.
In addition, Megan has experience working with Catholic organizations in provincial mergers and congregational restructurings and in the formation of provincial and congregational charitable support trusts. She also has familiarity with the regulatory and operational issues involved when Catholic organizations own health care facilities.
During law school, Megan worked as a law clerk and nurse consultant for a small law firm in Chicago, focusing on patient care issues.
She is admitted to practice in Illinois and is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, American Bar Association and Chicago Bar Association. She is a licensed registered nurse in Illinois.
