From 1970 to 1994, Dr. Amstutz was Managing Director of Holderbank Financiere Glaris Ltd., a world leader in cement. From 1994 to 2000, Dr. Amstutz was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Von Roll Holding Ltd., a designer and manufacturer of environmental technology products, electrotechnical and industrial insulation systems and industrial metal specialties, and from 1986 to 1999, was Vice Chairman of Alusuisse Lonza Holding Ltd., a conglomerate of chemical, aluminum and packaging firms.
