Ms. Miller is an experienced consultant who brings to GHG and its clients 20 years of experience with CMS. Her broad experience within CMS covered all facets of policy development, legislative reform, and regulatory affairs pertaining to Medicare managed care. As Senior Policy Analyst for CMS’s Medicare managed care program, Ms. Miller played an integral role in developing the regulations and guidance for the Medicare Advantage program. Her contributions covered many operational areas, such as authoring regulations and guidance on the beneficiary appeals and grievance processes. During her CMS career, Ms. Miller served as a liaison with providers, national associations, health plans, federal and state officials, and has been instrumental in the development of several policy initiatives and national operational standards. She worked closely with the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) in developing model health care accountability standards. She served as an advisor to the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) in developing the accreditation standards for health care networks. She also provided guidance to managed care industry associations on Medicare issues. In 2002, Maureen completed a one-year engagement as senior staff member to the President’s Commission on Complementary and Alternative Medicine Policy. In addition, she has spoken widely on Medicare legislation, regulations, and trends in Medicare managed care. She has authored a number of articles that have been published in managed care trade publications, and contributed to other publications. Ms. Miller has extended her consulting practice and expertise to Part D, the Medicare Prescription Drug program. She advises clients on CMS regulations and program guidance, and has assisted PDPs and MA-PDs with implementation and operations in several program areas. Ms. Miller is also part of the GHG team specializing in Part D compliance. |
