Maura J. McGuire, M.D. is a medical Director at Johns Hopkins Community Physicians, the largest primary care group practice in Maryland. She oversees laboratory medicine, coding and compliance and clinical education for the group.
Dr. McGuire is also an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. As a member of the Hopkins faculty, she oversees training of residents, medical students and other allied health professionals within Johns Hopkins Community Physicians. She has special interests in performance improvement and disease management and has participated in several projects to enhance care of patients with diabetes, asthma and cardiovascular disease within the Hopkins health system.
Dr. McGuire obtained degrees in chemical and biomedical engineering at Carnegie Mellon University and worked briefly in synthetic fuels development before beginning medical school at Johns Hopkins University. She completed an internal medicine residency in 1986 and a fellowship in hematology in 1989, both at Hopkins. |
