Matthew joined Stratford School as President in 2005. He has a Masters in Education from the Stanford University School of Education and an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Matthew started his career at the Gorbachev Foundation organizing an international forum of current and former heads of state and other world leaders to address the major challenges facing the global community in the new millennium. He later joined Rosewood Capital, a San Francisco based private equity firm, where he was responsible for initiating the firm s investment in Hooked on Phonics. He helped rebuild Hooked on Phonics and is especially proud of his role recruiting leading children s editors and reading researchers to develop a unique program that has since been used by hundreds of thousands of children learning to read. Prior to joining Stratford, Matthew also served as a Principal at Partech International, a billion dollar international venture capital firm, and managed a rapidly growing business unit within eBay. Matthew has a passion for early childhood education. He has volunteered as a physical education teacher in East Palo Alto, Junior Achievement teacher in San Francisco, and Associate Advisor at Stanford University. He has been published in the Institute for International Education s annual Open Doors publication on investing in education. Matthew lives in San Francisco with his wife Amanda and daughter Zoë. |
