Mr. Matt Sanchez joined the staff at RJLG in the Fall of 2007 as a Scientist for the Optical Microscopy Department. His research experience involves characterization of amphiboles from Libby, Montana and characterization of amphiboles in chrysotile ore. At RJLG, his focus is the optical characterization of minerals and routine asbestos analysis. He has knowledge of several analytical techniques, including polarized light microscopy (PLM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), electron probe microanalysis (EPMA), and induced coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). Mr. Sanchez is a member of the Mineralogical Society of America (MSA) and Mineralogical Association of Canada (MAC).
