Matthew S. Sturtz is a principal in the firm’s Towson office. Mr. Sturtz has spent more than sixteen years handling all manner of complex corporate and commercial litigation matters including, but not limited to, corporate and partnership breakups, residential and commercial construction disputes, Uniform Commercial Code matters, residential care agreements, shareholder appraisal actions, and the enforcement of a wide variety of written agreements. He also has represented a wide variety of lending institutions in matters involving, among other things, enforcement of commercial paper obligations, defending against lender liability claims, and defending against Article 3 and Article 4 claims. Mr. Sturtz has appeared in and presented arguments to the Court of Special Appeals of Maryland, the Court of Appeals of Maryland, the United States Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, the District of Columbia Circuit Court of Appeals, the Superior Court of Pennsylvania, and the American Arbitration Association. He has tried bench and jury trials in Maryland, Pennsylvania and Delaware, and handled cases in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, Minnesota and Florida. Mr. Sturtz has received an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
