Matthew N. Reaves, CPC, is Common Agenda’s Managing Director and founder. Driven by his passion for the business of technology and genuinely helping people, Matthew’s recruiting career spans nearly two decades - serving an array of clients in major product and operational segments of the industry. Matthew is a long time proponent of Retained and Contingency search for mid-to-senior level candidates. He has been chosen to staff and/or restructure numerous organizations in leading public and private companies. Matthew’s skills in finding and judging talent, attention to detail, and flexibility in conducting individual and multiple search projects have led many industry leaders to use his services for years of repeat business, often continuing the relationship as they advance to senior executive careers at new companies. Throughout his career Matthew has promoted research, knowledge management, and honest work as the way to penetrate niche markets and attract top talent for his clients. These proven techniques have amassed an astonishing database. He has garnered recruiting expertise across of disciplines including: software and hardware development, systems architecture, systems engineering, product management, marketing, business development and sales. Prior to founding Common Agenda in 1996, Matthew was Director of Corporate Computer Systems’ recruiting division in Holmdel, New Jersey for 13 years. With two decorated former Bell Labs engineers as bosses, the abundance of technical wisdom at his fingertips aided him as he became a top producer, successfully completed search assignments with clients that included; ADC Communications, AT&T Bell Labs, AT&T Network Systems, BellCore, DSC Communications, Dupont, GE Astro Space, Hewlett Packard, Hitachi, Hoffman La-Roche, Martin Marietta, Motorola, NYNEX, RCA, Scientific Atlanta, Tellabs, and a host of other companies large and small. Matthew received an Associates Degree in Small Business Management from Brookdale College and earned his CPC (Certified Personnel Consultant) from the National Association of Personnel Services. Matthew lives at the shore and has been blessed with a devoted wife of 18 years and three active teenagers. Among a myriad of activities and passions to balance in off time, Matthew is an active member of a several of civic and community outreach organizations as well as an enthusiastic collector of Bell System memorabilia. He is a member of the Antique Telephone Collector’s Association where he researches, buys and sells unique pieces of his exclusively Western Electric antique telephone collection.
