Matthew L. Powell is an Associate with Kerr, Russell and Weber, PLC. Mr. Powell practices in various areas of litigation and is active in the firm's corporate practice. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and has been admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
While in law school, he interned at the United States District Court, Eastern District of Michigan, for the Honorable John Corbett O'Meara. Upon graduating from law school and before joining the law firm, Mr. Powell clerked two years for the Honorable Marianne O. Battani, United States District Court, Eastern District of Michigan.
Mr. Powell is a graduate of the University of Michigan where he received a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Architecture and Urban Planning. Before attending law school, Mr. Powell worked as an architect in Illinois. Mr. Powell graduated, cum laude, from the Wayne State University Law School, where he was a member of the Wayne State Chapter of The Order of the Coif. While in law school, Mr. Powell was a member of the Wayne State Law Review, was a Dean's Scholar, and received both Silver and Bronze Key Certificates for academic excellence. |
