Matthew J. Desch became Chairman of the Board of Directors of Airspan on July 1, 2000. Mr. Desch currently serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Iridium Satellite LLC, a global supplier of mobile satellite communications services. Prior to joining Iridium, Mr. Desch served as the Chief Executive Officer of Telcordia Technologies, a private communications software and services supplier from July 2002 until October 2005. Mr. Desch was also a member of the Board of Directors of Flarion, Inc., a mobile broadband equipment supplier until it was acquired by Qualcomm Incorporated in January 2006. He is currently a member of the board of Starent Networks. From 1987 through May 2000, Mr. Desch served in a variety of management positions with Nortel Networks, a global supplier of networking solutions and services. From 1996 through 2000 he served as Executive Vice President and President of Nortel's Wireless Networks division, responsible for Nortel's global wireless infrastructure business. Mr. Desch has a B.S. from Ohio State University and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago. |
