Matthew J. Brennan has worked at Sullivan & Cromwell since 1994 and was appointed special counsel in 1998. He has been advising corporations on environmental issues in commercial transactions since 1986. Mr. Brennan specializes in providing environmental advice on a broad range of commercial transactions. He supports the firm's corporate, mergers and acquisitions, project finance, securities and finance groups in evaluating environmental liabilities and risks, in structuring transactions to minimize risk and in negotiating the allocation of environmental risk among parties in commercial transactions. Over the course of an average year Mr. Brennan is involved to varying degrees in approximately 150 transactions and related legal matters. Over the last decade Mr. Brennan has provided environmental advice to corporations, lenders and governments in a broad range of commercial activities. Mr. Brennan writes and speaks on environmental issues in a variety of professional contexts. |
