Matthew J. Pavlides is the managing principal in the firm's Rockville office. Mr. Pavlides practices in the area of corporate/shareholder/construction litigation. He has experience in small, medium and large client needs including corporate issues; corporate shareholder issues; construction; government contracts; surety; and general civil litigation. His experience covers a wide variety of issues arising on both commercial and government matters, including contract drafting and negotiation, insurance and bond coverage, reviewing and preparing claims, and representation in the disputes process including litigation and arbitration. The scope and size of his experience ranges from very large, complex commercial matters and deliverables, to smaller, often single issue cases such as residential or other simpler matters. Mr. Pavlides has prepared and presented various and numerous matters before the courts or arbitration tribunals, on behalf of owners, contractors, subcontractors, sureties, vendors and even NFL football players on their construction and personal matters. He also is well-versed in all aspects of alternative dispute resolution procedures, including mediation. Mr. Pavlides has prepared and arbitrated changed work, delay and impact claims. He has litigated recovery for delay and disruption claims. He has successfully defended engineers and architects for their involvement in buildings with structural collapses wherein the claims involved millions of dollars of wrongful death and building damage. Mr. Pavlides has participated in mediated resolution on numerous claims and cross-claims.
