Matt Landry's background in the venture capital industry makes him especially adept at analyzing the deal. His recent engagements heavily involve merger and acquisition activity, due diligence, feasibility analysis and strategic positioning in markets both domestic and abroad. As Vice President of Strategic Consulting, Matt assists public and private operating companies, Native American tribes, potential investors, developers, investment banks, and state and local governments in a wide range of projects.
With his broad depth of understanding of the gaming industry, Matt has developed marketing strategies, analyzed project feasibilities and obtained financing. He is astute enough to know what information is needed for a decision, and has designed and directed primary research to gather the data he needs. His research on the gaming behavior and the social and economic impacts of Native American casinos in California on Nevada gaming markets was comprehensive enough to be provided to an investment bank for publication. Matt has also been engaged by potential investors to assess the economic and social impacts of legalizing gaming and to communicate the results to state and local governments.
Prior to joining The Innovation Group, Matt worked in the venture capital industry, leading due diligence projects, sector and portfolio allocation and analysis, and assisting in the management of portfolio companies in the energy and telecommunications industries. Each of his investment recommendations was adopted, and that, to date, portfolio has achieved a 34% IRR. Prior to that, Matt was an Associate in Corporate Planning and Development at Reliant Energy, developing and implementing strategic plans and initiatives in its European office.
Matt holds an M.B.A. from The University of Chicago with concentrations in Finance, Strategy and Entrepreneurship, and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Economics from the University of New Hampshire. |
