Matt Mayer is responsible for supporting federal, state and local information-sharing and intelligence initiatives and for expanding Sypherlink’s customer and partner base in the integrated justice market. Previously, Mr. Mayer served as director of Lockheed Martin’s homeland security related business, helping the corporation to develop its strategic approach to that specific market and to effectively navigate within government, international and private-sector organizations. Before joining Lockheed Martin, Mr. Mayer was a senior official at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and served as counselor to Deputy Secretary Michael P. Jackson and Homeland Security Director Michael Chertoff. As he was involved in all policy and operational issues facing the department, he has firsthand experience with the inner workings of this complex agency and a unique understanding of the leadership’s approaches to departmental issues and its future direction. At DHS, Mr. Mayer also served as the acting executive director for the Office of Grants and Training (formerly known as the Office of State and Local Government Coordination and Preparedness and the Office for Domestic Preparedness). He concurrently served as chief of staff and senior policy advisor for the organization, which is the primary office in DHS responsible for terrorism preparedness. Mr. Mayer joined DHS from Colorado, where he served as the deputy director for the Department of Regulatory Agencies. In this role, Mr. Mayer regulated more than 590,000 licensed professionals and critical infrastructure industries including banking, securities, insurance, telecommunications and energy. Mr. Mayer graduated cum laude from the University of Dayton, with a double major in philosophy and psychology. He received his law degree from The Ohio State University College of Law, where he was the editor-in-chief of the Ohio State Journal on Dispute Resolution and the recipient of the Past Editors’ Award. |
