Matt Grant joined KRCG-TV in October 2007 as the night reporter after receiving his master's degree in journalism from Columbia University in New York City. During that time he co-produced a documentary on the juvenile justice system in the Bronx. Matt's love of journalism and interest in writing led him to pursue his master's which now lands him here in mid-Missouri.
Prior to attending Columbia University, Matt gained experience working with NBC New York where he helped cover political and consumer news. He also worked as an assignment desk editor at News 12 The Bronx from 2005 to 2006. Matt completed his undergraduate studies at Marist College in New York graduating Cum Laude with a dual degree in Communication Studies and Political Science.
One of Matt's passions is international travel. He lived abroad in Prague, Czech Republic where he worked for a children's television station. Additionally, Matt has spent time in the Middle East and recently traveled to Moldova where he investigated human trafficking.
In his spare time Matt enjoys reading, listening to music and spending time outdoors. He is also a big NY sports fan and you can be sure to find him rooting for his hometown New York Yankees and New York Giants.
A lifelong New Yorker, originally from Syosset, NY, Matt is excited to now be living in Columbia in the Heart of Missouri. He is eager to learn more about the region and is happy to now call it home. |
