He joined DuPont in 1973 and held positions in manufacturing, marketing and planning in several countries in Europe before moving to the United States. He returned to Europe in 1982 to manage DuPont's connector manufacturing facility in the Netherlands and subsequently became director of European Operations for the Connector Business. He became managing director of DuPont's facilities in Luxembourg in 1992.
He moved to the DuPont European headquarters in Geneva in 1996 as vice president, Operations and Human Resources, and was appointed president, Europe, Middle East and Africa in February 1998. He was named to his current position in April 2006.
Mr. Vrijsen holds a bachelor degree in mechanical engineering from the Den Bosch Technical College in the Netherlands.
Mr. Vrijsen is a member of the Executive Committee of the Board of the CEFIC (European chemical industry association), a member of the Board of EuropaBio (European association of bio industries), Executive Director of the Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Executive Committee of the Board of the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne. |
