Masaaki Tanaka 54 was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of UnionBanCal Corporation and Union Bank of California in May 2007. He served as Executive Officer and General Manager Corporate Planning Division of The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi-UFJ Ltd. from January 2006 to May 2007. From May 2004 to December 2005 Mr. Tanaka served as General Manager of Corporate Banking Division No. 2 of Corporate Banking Group No. 1 and beginning in July 2004 as General Manager of Corporate Banking Division No. 3 of the Corporate Banking Group. From May 2004 to May 2005 Mr. Tanaka also served as General Manager of Corporate Business Development Division No.1. From April 2001 to May 2004 he served as General Manager Corporate Planning Division of the Mitsubishi Tokyo Financial Group and from May 2000 to March 2001 he served as General Manager Integrated Planning Office of The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi Ltd. Mr. Tanaka was appointed Executive Officer in June 2004 for The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi Ltd and Managing Executive Officer in May 2007 for The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ Ltd. From April 2003 to April 2004 Mr. Tanaka served as a member of Disclosure Working Group the 1st subcommittee Sectional Committee on Financial System Financial System Council of Financial Services Agency of Japan. |
