Mary Harvey is an attorney in the Firm's Community Association Law Group. She gained valuable experience in this area of law as an attorney with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) where she was responsible for reviewing the legal sufficiency of the loan documents and collateral requirements needed for community associations and others seeking federal financial assistance following major hurricanes. These loans ranged in value from $10,000 to $1.5 million. Additionally, as an SBA attorney, she was responsible for authorizing monetary disbursements, approving loan documents including mortgage agreements, promissory notes, special assessments, UCC fillings, flood and hazard insurance, security agreements and attorney opinions. Ms. Harvey also worked on the review, interpretation of association documents, insurance policies, asset sheets, profit and loss statements, corporate D&B reports and closing statements. Ms. Harvey is a 1997 graduate of Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center. She began her legal career as a paralegal after successful careers in the computer industry and insurance business in which she was honored as a "life millionaire" for Allstate Insurance Company. Since graduating from law school, she has had exposure to many areas of law including Probate, Real Estate and Civil Litigation and Family Law matters. She is also very knowledgeable in the areas of Life, Automobile, Homeowners, and Annuity insurance related legal issues.
