Experience:
Mary Streett focuses her practices in the area of federal and state campaign finance and lobbying disclosure law, representing private sector clients as well as political committees in a wide array of compliance, regulatory and litigation matters. She has extensive experience in designing internal compliance programs for corporations, coalitions and political committees to comply with the myriad of ever changing federal and state lobbying disclosure and campaign finance laws.
Mary also has significant experience on the investigation and defense of regulatory matters, including conducting internal investigations for clients subject to FEC, SEC and Congressional inquires and has successfully defended against enforcement actions brought by federal campaign finance regulatory authorities. She also advises clients on general legislative and regulatory matters.
She has also been involved in the representation of national and multi-national corporations in complex commercial litigation including such matters as product liability litigation, securities and bankruptcy.
While serving in the Clinton Administration on the White House Staff (1993 -1994) and as Special Counsel and Deputy General Counsel for the Commerce Department (1998 -2001) she helped formulate and implement policy concerning intellectual property, privacy, taxation of electronic commerce, telecommunications matters, international trade and consumer protection.
Mary joined Mayer Brown in 2002.
