Mary came to DAL Partners with more than 30 years of diverse health care experience with an emphasis on community-behavioral health and continuous quality improvement. Mary began her career as a Registered Nurse in acute care settings. After attaining a B.S. in Nursing, she shifted professional areas to community health and gerontology. A heightened awareness of multi-faceted regulatory requirements and their potential impact on the complex demands of health care led her to attain a Masters degree in Psychiatric Nursing and completed a Ph.D. in Research and Theory Development in Nursing Science from New York University. She received a National Research Service Award from the National Institute of Nursing Research for her doctoral study. She is an American Nurses Association-certified Clinical Specialist in community health nursing and is also certified in gerontological nursing. Mary has also taught both community health and psychiatric nursing for New York University. Mary was Associate Director of Accreditation at the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission where she was responsible for assuring continuous quality improvement in nursing education. Earlier in her career, she was Manager of Quality Assurance at St. Vincents Hospital and Medical Center in New York City. As Director of Behavioral Health for Priority Care, Inc., a home health care company, she directed the programs that provided behavioral health services to both adolescents and adults in the community. Her various professional achievements include national presentations and peer-reviewed publication of several articles based on her seminal research. |
