Mary Jane brings over 15 years of personal financial planning experience to Cary Street Partners. Her career has centered on working with individuals and families to resolve issues involving estate planning strategies, risk management assessment, stock option strategies, pension payout options, as well as cash flow modeling and business succession planning. From 1984 to 1994 Mary Jane was employed by Wheat First Butcher Singer as both a Personal Financial Planner and Retirement Planning Specialist, creating financial plans and assisting business owners in the design of qualified retirement plans. Following her career at Wheat, Mary Jane began the first Financial Planning Department at Scott & Stringfellow, Inc., a regional brokerage firm headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, where she developed and managed the department until 2000 when she joined First Union Securities, formerly Wheat First Butcher Singer, helping establish and market personal trust services. In 2002 Mary Jane joined SunTrust Bank, as the Senior Financial Planner for the Mid-Atlantic Region. Mary Jane graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a BS in Business Administration and Management and an AS in Marketing. She has also earned the Certified Financial Planner® designation. Mary Jane, a long-time member of the Financial Planning Association of Central Virginia, has served on its Board since 2003. |
