Mary Ellen Zipper is the director of client relations for CapMed, a division of Bio-Imaging Technologies. In this role she assumes project lead responsibilities for integrated PHR rollouts and other CapMed projects. Mary Ellen has more than 20 years of clinical, human resource management and project management experience in health care. She started her career as a hospital clinical nurse, with a focus on women and infant health. She then worked at a women’s health ambulatory-care facility as a nurse and nurse manager before becoming a project manager for a new electronic medical record development and implementation project. Her involvement spanned the full life cycle of the project, where she offered leadership, guidance and participation in a number of project phases. Building on this experience, Mary Ellen then moved to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where she worked in the Information Technology Department and managed multiple departmental clinical systems projects. In addition, she has had consulting roles in systems analysis and design and EMR application development. Mary Ellen graduated with honors from Adelphi University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. She has pursued project management training through the Project Management Institute. |
