Experience: Mary Ann has over 20 years of public accounting experience including 15 years as a tax manager with a large local CPA firm. She joined Goodman and Company when her firm, Crutchley, Marginot and Tosi, merged with Goodman in 2004. Her experience includes working with individuals and small- to mid-size businesses in the areas of taxation and accounting. She consults with a number of small businesses on their choice of business entity and multi-state taxation issues. Her income tax emphasis includes corporate, partnership, limited liability and individual income tax issues. As part of her tax practice, she also works with high net worth individuals. Mary Ann is experienced in consulting in the establishment and administration of pension plans for businesses and individuals. Her industry experience includes real estate, personal service firms and medical practices. Mary Ann is a frequent speaker for various professional organizations on topics that include 1031 exchanges, structuring the appropriate retirement plan for businesses, the tax implications of financing real estate activities and structuring accounting records for small businesses Other Activities: Mary Ann is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Virginia Society of CPAs. In addition, she is a member of Goodman and Companys Real Estate Specialization Team, serving on both the Cost Segregation and 1031 Exchange subcommittees for this practice group. She is active in the community through her involvement with tennis programs for children and adults including coaching a local junior tennis. |
