Mr. Klebanofff began his career in mortgage finance 25 years ago with Dorman & Wilson. That firm was subsequently purchased by Legg Mason Inc., in 1993 and then merged into Legg Mason Real Estate Services (LMRES). In September 2003, LMRES sold its interest to NorthMarq Capital, Inc. By that time Marty had become Managing Director of the North Jersey Office of LMRES. In June 2004 with the aid of Marty, NorthMarq increased its presence in New Jersey by acquiring James R. Poole & Company, Inc.
Currently Marty is Senior Vice President and Co-Managing Director of the New Jersey Office, as well as a member of the Companies' Executive Board. Since 2003, Marty has helped expand the New Jersey operation from three people to 15 professionals and raised production by eight times its former level to about $1 billion per year, and profitability to a greater degree.
Mr. Klebanoff's current responsibilities include debt and equity placement for clients with insurance companies, pension funds, and conduit investors. He is considered an expert in structured finance. In addition, he helps supervise New Jersey's $1.6 billion servicing portfolio. As Co-Managing Director, Mr. Klebanoff helps direct and manage the development of new clients, financing and equity joint ventures in the Northern New Jersey MSA as well as growing the NorthMarq brand and managing the regional office.
Mr. Klebanoff has been in the top 5 for the past five years of company Producers. He has arranged more than $5 billion in commercial real estate financings during his career with LMRES and NorthMarq. Mr. Klebanoff has experience in commercial real estate including equity raises for Private REIT's and clients, financing and sales.
Previously, Mr. Klebanoff was a mortgage broker and multi-family property owner with his own firm. Mr. Klebanoff holds a B.A. degree in Psychology from New York University. He has guest lectured at NYU's renowned School of Real Estate for a number of years. Additionally, he is a licensed real estate salesperson in the State of New Jersey. Mr. Klebanoff is also a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association and NAIOP as well as a longstanding member and current Chairman of NAIOP's National Capital Markets Forum and active with NAIOP's Community Action Committee & Member of Principal Real Estate Investor Debt Advisory Board. |
