Martin Miller joined the Washington, DC office of Kenyon & Kenyon as an associate in the fall of 2007.
Prior to joining Kenyon & Kenyon, Mr. Miller was an associate with a general practice firm that merged with a Virginia-based patent boutique. He also worked as an associate with another Washington, DC-based patent boutique.
While attending law school, Mr. Miller worked as a patent examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office. As an Examiner, he examined patent applications in the image communications arts, which included character and pattern recognition systems, image processing systems, facsimile and static presentation processing arts.
Mr. Miller served as an electronics engineer for the U.S. Department of Defense. In that role, he monitored and reported contractual compliance on several government engineering research and development contracts. From 1988 to 1994, he worked at the Charleston Naval Shipyard as an electrical field engineer for the Department of the Navy, designing, writing and authorizing engineering design changes and maintenance procedures for industrial AC and DC control systems.
Mr. Miller's practice is directed to drafting and prosecuting both electrical and electro-mechanical patents. He drafts and prosecutes both U.S. and foreign patent applications and assists clients in developing patent strategies. Mr. Miller has experience in areas such as wireless communication devices, digital media, medical devices, electronic circuits, power distribution devices and systems, and business methods. |
