Martin Erhardt is an associate in the Global Corporate Department of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP. He joined Milbank in 2004 as part of the team founding Milbank's Munich office. Martin Erhardt specializes in M&A transactions as well as in corporate advisory ("Aktien- und Konzernrecht, Umwandlungsrecht"). He also worked for clients in the context of actions of minority shareholders and appraisal proceedings following corporate reorganisations.
Martin Erhardt has advised on numerous M&A transactions in a broad range of industries including acting for ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG in the acquisition of the SBS Broadcasting Group from KKR and Permira, of the interactive TV channel 9Live as well as of various companies active in the internet industry, for Interbrew S.A. in the creation of a joint venture with Spaten-Franziskaner KGaA (forming the largest brewery in the German market), for The Carlyle Group in the sale of their participations in Honsel GmbH & Co. KG and BERU AG (both active in the automotive industry), for EuroHypo AG in the acquisition of the real estate investment banking business from Deutsche Bank AG, for Energie Baden-Württemberg AG and its subsidiary Salamander AG in the sale of the parking management service provider APCOA AG and for ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG in the potential takeover by the German publishing house Axel Springer AG. His experience also includes advising Energie Baden-Württemberg AG, Nemetschek AG, Stinnes AG and Schmidt Bank KGaA in various corporate reorganizations.
Martin Erhardt was born in Bonn in 1971. He studied law at the universities of Bayreuth, Heidelberg and the New York University School of Law. Martin Erhardt holds a doctorate degree (Dr. jur.) from the University of Heidelberg and post-graduate degree from the New York University School of Law (LL.M.). Before joining Milbank, he was an attorney with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Frankfurt and worked in the legal department of a major German listed chemicals company.
