Martin Cotter, the President of Portrush Petroleum Corporation, is an engineer with over 25 years experience serving on the boards of several public companies in an executive and a non-executive role. These companies include Cornucopia Resources, Tri-Power Petroleum, US Long Distance and Global Teleworks. Mr. Cotter has a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from University College, Dublin, Ireland and he resides in Dublin.
Mr. Cotter worked in the Canadian Oil and Gas industry in the 1980's and was involved in the setting up and subsequent sale of a number of junior oil and gas companies, both private and public. He has been a director of Portrush for 9 years and the President for 5 years. At the time Mr. Cotter was appointed President, the Company had written off its oil and gas properties and had little or no assets or prospects.
Under the stewardship of Mr. Cotter, Portrush has undertaken a number of joint ventures that have resulted in the establishment of very positive relationships with its joint venture partners. These relationships have allowed the Company to participate in and maintain the Company's working interests in two producing oil and gas properties; the Lenox project in the state of Michigan and the Mission River project in the gulf coast of Texas. |
