Martin Ellis is executive vice president, treasurer and chief financial officer for Agilysys, Inc. Agilysys is a leading provider of innovative IT solutions to the corporate and public sectors, with special expertise in select vertical markets, including hospitality and retail. The company uses technology including hardware, software and services to help customers resolve their most complicated IT needs. Additionally, Agilysys possesses expertise in enterprise architecture and high availability, infrastructure optimization, storage and resource management, and business continuity; and provides industry-specific software, services and expertise to the hospitality and retail markets.
Mr. Ellis, who reports directly to Arthur Rhein, chairman, president and chief executive officer, is responsible for the company's finance, treasury, investor relations and corporate development functions which include mergers and acquisitions. In addition, as the primary investment community contact for Agilysys, he also develops and implements the company's investor relations program. He has been with the company since July 2003.
Prior to joining Agilysys Mr. Ellis was senior vice president and principal at Stern Stewart & Co., a global financial consulting firm, where he managed the Corporate Financial Advisory and Middle Market EVAź practice. There he also managed numerous engagements including advising clients on corporate and financial restructuring, mergers and acquisitions and developing innovative financial strategies and recapitalizations. Prior to joining Stern Stewart he advised many companies on a variety of issues. With Fairchild Associates Ltd. he provided specialized consulting services to financial institutions including developing a flexible payment model for the Structured Finance division of Investec Bank. He spent two years in London with TASC providing management and accounting consulting services to small and medium sized companies and spent many years in accounting and auditing with Deloitte & Touche.
Mr. Ellis is a Chartered Accountant. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of the Witwatersrand and a honors degree in accounting science from the University of South Africa. He received his MBA in finance from the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Rochester and was elected to Beta Gamma Sigma, the business honor society. |
