Marty was previously a Managing Director and Head of Middle Markets Mergers & Acquisitions at Merrill Lynch. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch in 2001, he was a Managing Director with AEA Investors, a private equity firm. Prior to that, he was a Managing Director at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group and was Co-Head of DLJ’s Exclusive Sales Group from 1997 to 1999. He joined Lehman Brothers Kuhn Loeb in 1981. He later joined Salomon Brothers in 1984 where he became a Director in the Mergers & Acquisitions Department. From 1990 to 1995, he was at Goldman Sachs where he was in charge of the New England region in the firm’s Investment Banking Services Group. He has served on the Board of Directors of numerous companies including Dal-Tile Corporation (the largest U.S. ceramic tile manufacturer), Li & Fung Distribution ($1 billion supply chain distributor into Asia) and PC Connection ($1.3 billion direct marketer of technology equipment). Marty graduated summa cum laude from The Ohio State University in 1979 and was an Edward Carter Scholar at the University of California Los Angeles where he received his MBA in 1981. |
