Marston joined the MediaVest team in November 2004. As director of Business Development and Marketing, Allen, 42, who reports directly to CEO Laura Desmond, will identify and drive new and organic business development opportunities and initiatives. He also will guide the overall strategic marketing direction of the agency, working closely with MediaVest’s corporate communications and executive teams.
Immediately prior to joining MediaVest, Marston was SVP, Director of Communications Architecture at Universal McCann in New York, where he built the integrated communications practice, systems and tools from scratch. From 2000 to 2001, he led UM’s accountability and return-on-investment practice. From 1998 to 2000 as general manager of Universal McCann Guangming in Shanghai, China, Marston was responsible for turning around the quality and performance of UM’s operations there, and was awarded the Harrison K. McCann Leadership Award for his efforts.
Marston has almost 20 years experience as a strategic media professional, on such clients as Evian, Verizon Wireless, Club Med, Haagen-Dazs, J&J, Xbox, Jack Daniel’s, Cartier, Minolta, and L’Oreal, to name a few.
Marston was graduated from Georgetown University back when U2 was a small band from Ireland. He speaks German and a bit of Spanish & Italian, likes jangly guitar-based rock, and a good Pinot Noir. |
