Duke Whelan is responsible for the management of construction at the North Hills expansion, as well as tenant coordination issues at North Hills and the operational oversight of the Renaissance Hotel currently under construction at North Hills. He brings extensive experience in the field, as well as education. His resume includes experience gained through positions as project engineer on construction projects, general manager of a roofing and sheet metal company and a professor in the department of construction management at East Carolina University. Duke holds a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial technology from North Carolina State University and a master’s degree and doctorate in Industrial Technology from Texas A & M University. He is extremely active in community organizations, including the Cary YMCA, the Triangle Area Lacrosse League, the North Carolina Museum of Art, and the Town of Cary Parks and Recreation basketball league. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the U.S. Lacrosse Youth Council and was the North Carolina High School Lacrosse Association Man of the Year in 2005. |
