Mr. Simurda received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from California State University at Fullerton. Mark Simurda joined Lesley, Thomas, Schwarz & Postma, Inc. in 1986 as an intern and has spent his accounting career at Lesley, Thomas, Schwarz & Postma, Inc., becoming a tax partner in 1996. In 1989 Mark received his Masters Degree in Taxation from Golden Gate University.
As tax partner, Mr. Simurda focuses on complex tax issues for individual, business, and non-profit organizations. He is heavily experienced in researching the tax law, helping clients understand how emerging tax issues and new tax legislation will affect them, and how to take advantage of planning opportunities. He also has an excellent track record on representing individuals and businesses before the Internal Revenue Service and state taxing authorities.
In addition, Mr. Simurda is in charge of the firm's tax procedures and also represents the firm at local universities in connection with their accounting internship programs.
Mr. Simurda is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and California Society of Certified Public Accountants.
