Mr. Shaw has significant experience in strategic oil and gas asset
evaluation with both large and small oil companies, as well as advisory
and consulting firms. In his management and consulting roles he has
performed portfolio optimizations, due diligence, acquisition and
divestiture asset evaluations, participated in contract, litigation,
production unitization, and financial entity negotiations, and prepared
and presented regulatory filings at various state commissions. Mr. Shaw
designed and developed a commercial international oil and gas asset
evaluation software application that was acquired by Halliburton, held a
senior corporate planning role with an independent Denver oil and gas
firm, and was a founding partner in two small oil and gas consulting
businesses. Mr. Shaw’s broad oil and gas experience affords the ability
to identify critical issues and grasp relationships between a project’s
many components, and apply technical, operating, and market context
knowledge to develop successful solutions and strategies

Acquisition & Finance Due Diligence Mr. Shaw has provided due
diligence support of asset acquisitions, divestitures, and finance for E&P
firms and institutional funds, including upstream oil & gas assets, cavern
and reservoir gas storage projects, a regional utility, and a power
generation asset.
Expert Witness and Litigation Support Mr. Shaw prepared and
presented oil and gas regulatory filings in Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado,
and Utah. As VP of Corporate Planning for an independent E&P firm,
he assisted in structuring a successful planned bankruptcy workout plan
and provided support in several gas pipeline take-or-pay litigation
settlements.
Asset Valuation & Appraisal Mr. Shaw’s reservoir engineering
experience includes developing several comprehensive economic and
financial models to optimize corporate portfolios and evaluate financing,
acquisitions, and divestitures. Mark also designed, developed, and
licensed a commercial international oil and gas asset economic model
based on extensive international contract term analysis that was
ultimately acquired by Halliburton.
Production Operations Mr. Shaw managed large waterflood operations
in west Texas, designed and implemented an east Texas waterflood
project, and managed gas production operations in western Colorado and
eastern Utah.
Creditor Advisory Services Mr. Shaw performed evaluations and due
diligence on assets securing energy production loans for the lender and
for a lending syndicate.
