Mr. Nelson joined the company in 2007 as its CFO. He is responsible for all mergers and acquisitions, finance and accounting matters. Prior to joining Starpoint, Mr. Nelson was VP of Finance at a private equity backed operator and consolidator of residential boarding schools and wilderness programs. This company owned approximately 35 schools and programs, and Mr. Nelson was a member of a management team that increased EBITDA by approximately 325% to over $25 million. Prior to this, Mr. Nelson worked in the investment banking industry for four years and was an associate in the mergers and acquisitions department of Credit Suisse First Boston. Prior to that, he worked as an auditor for Deloitte and Touche. Mr. Nelson is a graduate from The University of California Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Economics and holds an MBA with Honors from The University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. Mr. Nelson is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant.
