Mark has 20-plus years working in the capital-markets arena, launching his career by trading bacon, pork-belly futures that is on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. He spent approximately five years in the pits, eventually filling orders for Wall Street firms in the S&P 500 futures and options markets. From there, Mark wrote a book called 24-Hour Trading, the Global Network of Futures and Options, which introduced him to the world of the written word and journalism. As a reporter for Knight-Ridder Financial News and IDD, Mark covered the financial markets, especially structured products and derivatives trading out of Chicago, New York, London and Tokyo. But the PR call was strong and Mark eventually landed at CJP to help run the financial-services group. Mark has worked closely with clients in developing strategic messaging that ring true with the media and the investment community and has served as strategic counsel in crisis-communications assignments for management changes, earnings surprises, M&A activity and bankruptcies. Mark has an MA in English Literature from the University of Chicago and a BA in English Literature from DePauw University. |
