Mark Harmon Principal and Chief Executive Officer, Auberge Resorts As Chief Executive Officer and Principal of Auberge Resorts, Mill Valley, Calif., Mark Harmon oversees the design, development and acquisition of hotels, resorts and private clubs. Named for its flagship hotel, Napa Valley’s renowned Auberge du Soleil, the company owns or operates a distinguished collection of exceptional properties, among them: Esperanza in Los Cabos, Mexico; The Lodge at CordeValle in San Jose, Calif.; Calistoga Ranch in Napa Valley, Calif.; and the Inn at Palmetto Bluff in Bluffton, S.C.; and several others currently in development. While Auberge Resorts nurtures the individuality of the establishments it owns or manages, all are characterized by a set of communal elements: intimate, understated luxury based upon timeless design; magnificent natural settings in some of the world’s most desirable destinations; superb cuisine utilizing the very best regional ingredients; and unparalleled, yet unobtrusive, service. Harmon formed Auberge Resorts in 1998 to consolidate the management and financial expertise and the assets of its various hospitality ventures and to pursue the development of other unique properties. Since then, he has led the company’s growth to encompass ventures not only in resort management, but also in resort development, real estate and residence clubs. Under Harmon’s leadership, Auberge Resorts properties have garnered industry accolades and high honors from the readers of Andrew Harper’s Hideaway, Condé Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure and Departures. Harmon is a graduate of Princeton University and University of California, Hastings Law School. |
