Mark Crane serves as the Executive Director of The Enterprise Corp. He is a Louisville native and a graduate of Waggener High School and Purdue University. Mark began his professional career in the IT department at PNC Bank. In 1987, Mark left the corporate world to join The Cobb Group - one of Louisville’s small, emerging entrepreneurial companies. During Mark’s ten years with The Cobb Group (which founder Doug Cobb sold to Ziff-Davis in 1991), he moved through the ranks as a writer, product team manager, and eventually Executive Vice President in charge of the company’s largest business unit. One of the keys to The Cobb Group’s success were its strategic partnerships with computer industry’s top companies, including Microsoft, Sun, Netscape, and Apple. During the last few years of Mark’s tenure at Cobb, he was the company’s main ambassador and deal-maker with those strategic partners. He maintains contact with many of the folks headquartered in the Bay Area, Seattle, and Boston. In January of 1998, Mark rejoined Doug Cobb as General Manager of Greater Louisville Inc., The Metro Chamber of Commerce. In September of 1999, Doug asked Mark to take the helm of The Enterprise Corporation, Greater Louisville’s key development arm for emerging, fast-growth entrepreneurial enterprises. |
