Mark Cochran is the executive vice president and general counsel for McAfee Inc. In this role he provides strategic leadership and legal counsel for the company reporting directly to Chief Executive Officer and President Dave DeWalt.
Cochran brings nearly two decades of technology industry experience working in law departments of both large and small technology companies. The range of his experience includes mergers and acquisitions corporate governance Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and intellectual property protection.
Cochran joins McAfee from Hyperion where he has served as vice president general counsel and corporate secretary since January 2005. He served as vice president general counsel and corporate secretary for 11 months in 2004 at Brocade Communications Systems a storage networking company. Prior to joining Brocade Cochran served as vice president general counsel and corporate secretary to AvantGo (acquired by Sybase). From 1990 to 1999 he served as senior corporate counsel for Advanced Micro Devices and corporate counsel to Syntex (acquired by Roche). He began practicing law with the Bay area firm of Ropers Majeski Kohn Bentley Wagner & Kane.
Cochran holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California Davis. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Santa Clara University Law School and a Master of Business Administration degree from Santa Clara University Graduate School of Business. |
