Mark, the founder of CounterPath, is a technology pioneer and the vision behind a number of early-to-market Internet applications. In 1998 Mark founded eduverse.com, an educational software company which aligned governments with advertisers to deliver Internet-based English as a second language (ESL) training materials, embedded with advertisements, to students within their school systems. Highlights of eduverse.com's partnerships include the Ministry of Education in China, the Ministry of Education in Malaysia, the Ministry of University Affairs in Thailand, AOL HK, StarTV, Sina, Acer and Procter and Gamble Manufacturing (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
Prior to eduverse.com, Mark served as Vice President of Applications and subsequently Vice President of Research & Development for PhotoChannel Networks, Inc. (formerly InMedia Presentations, Inc.), a multimedia software company. Under Mark's initiative and management, PhotoChannel developed the world's first web-based 100% pure HTML slide show player and also the world's first 100% pure Java slide show player. PhotoChannel's Windows and Mac software was bundled with digital cameras manufactured by Casio, Nikon, Olympus and Kodak. |
