Mr. Baum is a partner in DiamondCluster's Enterprise practice, focusing on clients in the consumer packaged goods industry. He has worked with a wide variety of food, beverage and other CPG companies on strategic technology initiatives, particularly in the areas of Data Synchronization and RFID/EPC implementation. Mr. Baum is recognized as one of the leading experts in the management of strategy, sales, marketing and merchandising activities in the food, beverage and consumer products industry. He also has been one of the chief architects of the industry's Global Technology Initiative. Previously, Mr. Baum was Executive Vice President of the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA). Prior to that, he was the President and CEO of the Association of Sales & Marketing Companies (ASMC), now a subsidiary of GMA. Mr. Baum served as Vice President, Sales and Marketing for Retail Insights, a division of Maclean Hunter Media producers of Supermarket Insights , Convenience Store Insights and Restaurant Insights and earlier, held significant management positions at Food Distributors International, focusing on business operations and productivity. An ex-officio Trustee of Food For All/FICAH, Mr. Baum also serves on the Board of Directors of Applied Knowledge Group, a technology and knowledge management software firm. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of St. Joseph's University Academy of Food Marketing, and their Foundation. Among his volunteer activities, Mr. Baum is involved with several conservation, and outdoors organizations. Mr. Baum received his undergraduate degree from Oswego State University (NY), receiving a B.A. in economics and political science and currently serves as Chairman of their Annual Fund. He also did graduate work in marketing and organizational development at Marymount University. |
