Dr. Adler is the founder, CEO and Medical Director of the San Diego Cancer Center. He is Board Certified both in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. As a recipient of a National Research Service Award, he served as a Fellow in Tumor Immunology at the Wistar Institute in Philadelphia. In 1987, he was a recipient of the NIH Physician-Scientist Award. He received his clinical subspecialty training in Oncology and Hematology at the UCSD Cancer Center and has participated in the faculty at UCSD Medical Center. Dr. Adler’s research interests and publications have focused on the molecular biology and genes underlying cancer. He is the on-site principal investigator of numerous Phase II and Phase III clinical trials on novel cancer agents and serves as Director of the San Diego Cancer Research Institute. He has served as a biotechnology development consultant for a number of international pharmaceutical firms and biotechnology companies. He served as a Director of CareInsite (NASDAQ:CARI) and currently serves as a Director of WebMD (NASDAQ:HLTH). He received his BA at Yale University (1978) where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and graduated Summa Cum Laude. He received his MD degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1982. |
