Mr. Osterberg has more than 20 years of financial and accounting experience, much of that time spent in the airline industry, having worked in public accounting and serving as the chief accounting officer for several public companies. He has a broad background and experience in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations and financial reporting.
Prior to joining AirTran Airways, Mr. Osterberg served as chief accounting officer for La Quinta Corporation. In addition, Mr. Osterberg has extensive airline experience, having served as chief accounting officer for Northwest Airlines and chief financial officer for Sun Country Airlines. Mr. Osterberg also has public accounting experience, including nine years with the accounting firm Deloitte Haskins & Sells (now Deloitte & Touche USA LLP) and served on the Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Council, a senior advisory group to the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB).
Mr. Osterberg received a BBA in Economics from Southern Methodist University, an MA in Economics from Rice University and an MBA in Accounting from the University of Florida. In addition, he is a Certified Public Accountant. |
